Inside the Making of 'TURBINA' with Farruko and Austin Millz

What does it take to bring fantastical visions to life and transport the viewer to worlds beyond reality? In our new project for Farruko and Austin Millz, we embraced this challenge with a blend of innovative approaches and complex visual effects, leveraging advanced virtual production and post-production tools. Collaborating for the first time with director Fernando Lugo and the production company Hero Kids, the Frender team crafted immersive, otherworldly scenes for the “Turbina” music video.

With Farruko's fusion of urban rhythms and Austin Millz’s electronic influence, "TURBINA" is already capturing audiences worldwide, blending Latin urban sounds with fresh electronic beats. This unique musical style, complemented by the sci-fi visual world created by Frender, transports viewers into an atmospheric journey that perfectly matches the futuristic sound. Our team’s approach involved capturing this bold new direction through visuals that blend surreal snowy landscapes and space-age technology, presenting fans with a multisensory experience that amplifies the track’s dynamic energy.

This project marked our debut collaboration with Robot Studios’ virtual studio, led by Mauro Rondan. Virtual production, which combines real-time filming with digital environments, allowed us to make the production process more dynamic and efficient. Robot Studios’ virtual setup provided the flexibility to transform ideas into vivid visuals and seamlessly transition between live action and CGI, merging the best of both worlds.

The visual landscape for “TURBINA” serves as an extension of Farruko's larger narrative from his album CVRBON VRMOR, where themes of hope and self-growth interlace with high-energy beats. Every detail—from the futuristic space settings to the ethereal landscapes—enhances the song’s message. By building on the sci-fi motifs, Frender’s team worked closely with creative partners to bring this cinematic world to life through virtual production, helping expand Farruko’s visual universe while staying true to the essence of his musical vision.
